The Future Collective for Black-Owned Businesses, hosted in partnership with 1863 Ventures aims to support Black entrepreneurs looking to take their businesses to the next level. Kicking off its third year, a more modular solution was needed to support the rapidly-changing nature of the program in its early stages (i.e. application, enrollment.)
With an abundance of content around past and present cohorts, Fiverr also wanted the website to act as a resource hub for all Black business owners.
Solution
Working with a series of talented Black freelance designers (selected at the outset of each new year), we refined a narrative of “space dust to diamonds.” More ‘celestial’ than ‘sci-fi’, unique textures and gradients represented the gravity and pressure that mold each grant recipient into a precious stone.
I created a website whose main components sit in an adjustable grid above the fold, using color in a decisive way to encourage the primary CTA for each stage of the program.
